Usually puppy eyes are the cutest things in the world. But when this pup showed up at Dallas Animal Services, it wasn’t very cute, far from it

“His eye was completely falling out,” says Leslie Sans, President of Dallas Pets Alive! “It was pretty gruesome.”

The eye had to be removed  and when Dallas Pets Alive found a foster family for the dog they knew just the name for their one eyed friend

“They were really into Harry Potter and they thought that the human doppleganger for the furry Alastor, was Alastor Moody from Harry Potter,” says Sans.

So Alastor had a new look and a new name, but he still needed to find a “Furr-ever home.” Luckily Trey Miles came to an adoption event at Klyde Warren Park

“Someone threw a water bottle in front of him and he justcame alive. At that moment I was like this is my dog, I’m taking this dog home,” he says. “I went and told my wife that we were taking this dog home and she told me that we weren’t taking that dog home.

Aww man, what a buzz kill

“She said if you go home and you still want the dog tomorrow we’ll get the dog. Like you tell children,” he says. “Which you know, I was a big kid at that point.”

Luckily Miles and Alastor didn’t have to wait long.

“We met him on Saturday, on Monday the foster family who had had him brought him over and that was it he was ours.”

Alastor may be missing an eye but *sees* lots of love from his new family.
