DALLAS-You might remember the story of Tobias Mackey.

Back in 2010, a Dallas police officer shot him seven times and killed him in an Oak Cliff apartment complex.  Mackey wasn’t armed, and other officers say he was not a threat.

The cop was cleared, but Mackey’s family sued the city.

On Wednesday, the Dallas City Council signed off on a settlement: $900,000.

It’s a lot of money, but nothing compared to the loss of a loved one. It’s also proof that there may never be charges, but sometimes there`s change .
