It’s definitely time for Dallas to shine.

While we love having members of the Republican National Committee in town, this trip is all about business.

With millions of dollars on the line, city leaders are hoping to convince the RNC there’s no better place than North Texas for their 2016 convention.

They are also extending the full VIP treatment to our political guests, who will get a taste of what Big D has to offer. Private tours of some of the city’s brightest spots, which include Reunion Tower and Victory Park, are on the agenda. Reportedly, AT&T stadium in Arlington has been crossed off the list of potential venues, making the American Airlines Center a focal point of the visit. But, a potential scheduling conflict could work against us if both the Mavs and Stars make it to the finals in their respective sports.

“What we are really looking for is our best option whether it’s in June or in July. So, we’re looking at cities that have both dates. And, then we’ll really choose it on the basis of which city offers us the best package and can provide the best convention,” says Enid Mickelson, Site Selection City Chairman.

Hey, Dallas! Let’s show these party animals we really know how to party here in Texas.
