County Warns Residents of Jury Duty Scam

TARRANT COUNTY-Most of us have the same reaction when we get a jury duty notice in the mail.

Hate it or love it, we’ve all got to do it at some point, right? But what could be worse than being summoned?

Missing the notice all together! Well, scammers have been using this to their advantage.

Someone’s been calling Tarrant County residents and identifying themselves as a Lieutenant Allen and telling folks an arrest warrant has been issued. Hey, don’t worry, the caller says “just pay a fine and we’ll tear up the warrant!” They’re asking for up to $4,000!

But wait, the Tarrant County Sherriff’s office is urging residents to hang up.

So now that you’ve all been warned, if you do get a call, don’t fork over any money. Instead, give the cops a call.

Hey, and don’t duck out on jury duty!
