FLOWER MOUND , TX – They say competition brings out the best in people. Meet Flower Mound’s best: Lokesh Nagineni. He’s the Lamar Middle Schooler that is vying for the National Spelling Bee title.

It’s a pretty ‘buzzworthy’ event, considering Nagineni has been getting stung for the past three years as the regional first runner-up.

On top of brains and brawn, Nagineni has a pretty strong beehive of students rooting him on. And they did everything they could to make sure he was prepared.

“They pretty much test him a lot with words in the hallways to see if they can trip him up, but I’m not for sure that any student here has been able to do that,” said Lamar Middle School Principal Leigh Ann Lewis.

No matter what words he’s up against, or how he places, it’s safe to say Nagineni’s hive will buzz with bliss.

“Good Luck Lokesh. You know that we’re thinking of you and we know you’re going to do an amazing job,” says Lamar Middle School teacher Phyllis Robertson.

Isn’t that just the bee’s knees?
