Dallas' First Abortion Clinic Closes in Wake of New State Law

Abortion has, and always will be, a touchy topic. It seems Texas laws are written to terminate the issue.

Case and point, Dallas’ first casualty: Northpark Medical Group. The abortion clinic on the city’s far north side,  has closed its doors because of the newly implemented restrictions. The lengthy laws, passed last year, require these clinics to have hospital privileges.

The shutdowns don’t seem to be slowing down. According to, almost 75-percent of the abortion mills in the United States have closed in the past 15 years.

In addition, this closure may not be music to gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis’ ears. She was recently referred to as ‘Abortion Barbie’ by Conservative Kathryn Stuard.

Talk about a punch in the gut.
