PLANO-- Getting fit and fab isn't easy, but maybe some inspiration from Demi Lovato can help. The singer flew home to the DFW to show love to her fans after recently teaming up with Kate Hudson's Fabletics.
"It feels amazing to be home doing an event for the community like this, " Demi told NewsFix. "It's awesome to be able to see my fans up close and personal."
The 25-year-old superstar's main goal is to inspire young women and girls to get fit, both physically and mentally.
"A lot of people focus on the physical part of health and fitness, but it's so important that you take care of your mental health; and that happens a lot when you're taking care of yourself physically as well," Demi added. "Internally love yourself; that's the only way you're going to be able to accept your body with all the flaws and little flaws you have."
Demi has also been working hard on her Girl Up initiative, where she's raising funds to help provide bikes for girls so they can go to school.
"Proceed of the portions go to Girl Up, which I'm really excited about, " Demi explained. "It's very empowering towards girls, and I love associating myself with brands that are very positive with women empowerment."
Since Demi was born and raised right here in Texas, her help is spreading far beyond the fitness world. She's joined the non profit Voto Latino to help young illegal immigrants who might be affected by Trump's decision to phase out DACA!
Demi is also lending a helping hand to Houston Food Bank to help Harvey victims.
Besides all the donations, and time, Demi is also working to inspire her fans with what she does best, her music!
