NEW JERSEY — Dallas native and country singer Granger Smith  has canceled his upcoming Texas and North Carolina shows after injuring himself on stage in New Jersey.

Witnesses say Smith was standing on an audio monitor at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville Friday night when it gave way, causing him to fall into a metal barricade. After powering through the rest of his performance, Smith was taken to a local hospital.

Smith took to Twitter to assure fans that even though he took a pretty hard spill, he was on the mend and hoped to be out of the hospital soon and headed home to family in Texas.
