FORT WORTH -- The Fort Worth Police Department has acknowledged one of their officers was mishandling a case involving a teen who says she was raped near school.

The officer, Detective Dennis Hutchins, was fired last summer, but the case was brought to light again after the mother of the Arlington Heights teen says she was never notified and Hutchins never investigated the child's incident.

Hutchins was fired for failing to file cases for prosecution and for mishandling multiple child abuse cases.
