San Antonio Cop Shot in the Head Outside Police HQ

SAN ANTONIO — There’s a manhunt for the gunman who killed a San Antonio officer outside police headquarters.

Detective Benjamin Marconi was writing a ticket Sunday afternoon when someone pulled up behind him and shot him in the head. The 20-year veteran was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police released this photo of the person of interest, saying he was driving a black sedan with chrome rims and tinted windows.

The suspect description is vague — a clean shaven black man who was driving either a dark Toyota or Nissan car.

Police say they don’t know what motivated the attack.
