North Texas Company Donates Christmas Lights to Tornado Victims

GARLAND -- It's Christmas all year long at 1000Bulbs.com in Garland. But for one worker this Christmas will have a slightly different feel than in years past. That's because he was hit by the tornadoes that ravaged the area the day after Christmas, last December. And a lot of his neighbors lost their homes. But that`s not all they lost.

"If they lost their house, they probably lost all their Christmas decorations," said Jim Holt, who is a tornado victim and 1000Bulbs.com employee.

Holt is in the Christmas business, and this year, his company pitched in to help tornado victims. Pallets of decorations have been flowing into town to help decorate Rowlett this year. "The neighborhoods are so dark, trees are gone lights are gone," said Holt.

Holt`s been dropping off lights at several help centers.  His sister-in-law runs one of them, Sharing Life Community Outreach. "When you lose everything, purchasing a Christmas tree and ornaments and decorative items are not important. And yet they are important," said Teresa Jackson the Director of Sharing Life.

Yeah, these folks are coming together to light up a neighborhood in more ways than one. Isn't that what Christmas is all about?
