DALLAS -- It’s been almost four months since the ambush that killed five Dallas officers. While it’s still fresh in our minds, the city’s not letting go of all the outpouring that showed up at DPD headquarters.
But now, it’s the Dallas Public Library’s job to archive the tribute to the officers, just like they did with JFK.
“It's a much larger collection than the one we have on Kennedy," Dallas Public Library Director Jo Giudice said. "So, we’re building a room, we’re changing a room in our basement just to house this collection."
A gofundme page has been set up to raise $75,000 to get the ball rolling on saving the collection.
“We can now show how people reacted to the tragedy and how the city of Dallas reacted to July 7th with love, kindness," said Giudice.
They’re going to need a lot more love, because so far, they've raised less than $300.
But look at the other stuff people are willing to contribute to: Several Dallas girls are all asking for boob jobs on gofundme. One Dallas guy wants Brita filters because his roommate uses them to filter vodka. And another guy's raising money for a Hawaiian vacation because life’s been getting to him lately.
Sooo... this all makes a donation to the fallen cops' memorial a no-brainer, right?!
