BULLARD, TX -- All hands are on deck in Bullard, Texas as the search continues high and wide for Kayla Gomez and the Dallas Police department has joined the FBI and other law enforcement in searching for the 10-year-old girl.
"Sweet little girl, ten years old, eighty pounds, four foot tall, just as cute as she could be,” says Cherokee County Sheriff, James Campbell.
An Amber Alert for Kayla was sent out a little after midnight Tuesday and shortly after the Texas Department of Transportation had electronic signs all over Interstate 20, displaying her name.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department, the little girl was playing inside Bullard First Assembly of God early Tuesday evening when she was taken.
Dr. Bryan C. Jack elementary school where the 10-year-old attends fourth grade, released the following statement:
Authorities were looking for a red Cadillac SRX but now say that was based on bad information.
Gomez's family told officials it's not like her to run away and they just want her home, safe and sound.
"She seems to be just a very normal young lady, and we have no reason as to why she would have been abducted,” says Campbell.
Gomez was last seen wearing a peach colored skirt and a t-shirt with 'racquet and jog.'
Let's hope she makes it back to her family.
