DALLAS -- The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced the 19 nominees for the class of 2017 which include, Chaka Khan, Janet Jackson, The Cars, and first-time nominees Depeche Mode, Pearl Jam and Tupac.

Now if you're like me you may be asking yourself, how are the nominees determined?

First of all, artists become eligible 25 years after their first LP, EP or single. They remain eligible until they are inducted. While some artists have been eligible for years, they have yet to be nominated.

But it looks like The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was waiting for Tupac because this is his first year of eligibility and he received a nomination.

Boyz II Men also became eligible this year and didn`t make the cut and how dare they snub Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch!

The official class will be announced in December and the ceremony is next April.

Just to let you folks at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame know, if Tupac is selected for induction, I will be available to attend the ceremony on his behalf!
