Supergirl Season 2: Superman’s Debut, Original Movie Timeline and Space Pod Dudes

Hello my Supegirl Superfriends! This is Richard from Zeus Comics!

In last season's Supergirl cliffhanger, Supergirl and J'onn J'onzz were speeding to the crash of a mysterious alien pod.

In the opener this week the pod is revealed to be… a dude.

A comatose dude at that..

Last week I mentioned Mon El, and this Supergirl reveal is eerily similar to Mon El's first appearance in Superboy #89 as a mysterious traveler who crash lands in an alien pod.

Plus,  Mon El has a Supergirl/Superman power set but his weakness is lead, not kryptonite…

Jumping to Superman, who makes his debut this episode.

This the best and brightest Superman in decades. I’m calling it right now, Superman in his own show right after Supergirl!

We’ll call it the Superman Family.. no no the Super Powers Super Hour…

Or how about World’s Finest?! I should see if that’s taken....

Oh and what about that fantastic call back to the original Superman movie with Cat’s bumbling new assistant?

“Miss Teschmacher!!”

With Kara no longer Cat’s assistant, Kara goes on a personal quest and decides to become a “reporter” not unlike her cousin Clark!

And another call back to the original Superman movie when Winn asks about the California Earthquake? Is the original Superman movie part of Supergirl’s history?

Wait… did Alex call him Clark? Does everyone know Clark is Superman? Does everyone know Kara is Supergirl? Maybe?

This show is terrible about keeping secret identities.. And now that I think about it, all of the shows are terrible about keeping secret identities!

These guys would fail at Secret Identity Burlesque… It’s called a strip tease, not strip take off your glasses to everyone.

Plus, we find out Superman is upset with J'onn J'onzz because the DEO has kryptonite.

Will that tie back to the kryptonite we saw being used by Cadmus to turn John Corben into Metallo?

This week we're getting full on Kryptonite powered Metallo... if only there was super-esque character not affected by kryptonite… Hmm

Get ready for some World's Finest Super Family in the next episode of Supergirl, “The Last Children of Krypton!"
