ARLINGTON, TX — Dak-Mania has taken over Cowboys Nation!
Yeah, the rookie led the 4th quarter game winning drive yesterday over the arch-rival Redskins.
“It’s been fun, I’ve got great coaches, an unbelievable coaching staff and great teammates just to pick me up every day I come in,” said Prescott after the 27-23 win over Washington. “I focus on the moment, I focus on the day, just try to live in the moment and I’ve got great people around me to help me do that.”
Today he came home a hero, making a public appearance for the NFL Play 60 initiative with the rookies at Pearcy Elementary in Arlington.
Dak’s start has been off the charts. Comparing him to the other Cowboys quarterbacking greats, his first two games are as good or better than all of them.
His zero interceptions in his first 75 passing attempts has set a new NFL rookie record.
Prescott Fever is apparent when you take a look at the Cowboys’ top selling jerseys, where the fourth rounder’s #4 is at the very top of the list. And at stores like Academy, the Dak merchandise just keeps flying off the shelves.
“We’ve seen a high foot traffic here relating to the Prescott jerseys and we believe that, that will only continue with him leading the team to more wins,” said Alyssa Alvarado, the manager at the Arlington Academy Sports and Outdoors.
Whether a two game sample size is worth the 100 dollar swag investment is up to you, but it’s safe to say that Cowboys fans haven’t been this excited for a rookie quarterback in a long time. If he keeps it up, by the time Romo’s back is finally ready to go, fans may just be asking “Tony Who?”
