NEW YORK, NY -- From coffee to coffins, you can find just about anything in Walmart these days.
But if you're shopping around for good customer service a recent study from Columbia University says it'll be hard to spot in Walmarts based in poor or minority communities.
The 'study', which looked at about 35,000 Yelp reviews, apparently discovered that the lowest Walmart location ratings came from black or latino neighborhoods.
In majority Black zip codes, customers were more likely to use words like "nasty", "unorganized", and "slow" to describe their shopping experience.
But, it was opposite with Walmarts in neighborhoods that are the majority white. Reviews there claimed their local Walmart was "friendly" and "clean".
In a statement to NewsFix, Walmart says they found the study to be "flawed and without merit." The company also added that they're proud to "provide communities across the country, regardless of social or economic background, access to affordable goods and career opportunities."
Whether you take Walmart's word on this or a study based on Yelp reviews - it's kind of hard to just throw this one in the bag!
