EAST HARLEM, New York City — A wheelchair-bound 93-year-old woman was shopping at a clothing store with her attendant in Harlem when a man reached into her cleavage and stole her envelope of cash, police said.
Police arrested Broyoan Lopez, 26. Police say Lopez has been charged with two counts of robbery, grand larceny, and criminal possession of stolen property.
The woman and her attendant were at Regines Originals clothing store at 176 E. 116th St. around noon when Lopez allegedly walked into the store. Police say the woman was looking at the wall of clothes when Lopez reached into her cleavage and took a white envelope with an unspecified amount of cash, according to police.
The attendant turned around when the woman yelled a moment later and searched for the envelope. The robber had already fled the store.
