WEATHERFORD -- Gunshots were fired off by Weatherford Police Tuesday night. Cops tried to serve a felony warrant to a robbery suspect at a Super Value Inn before things turned deadly.
Weatherford cops say when officers entered the hotel room, the 36-year-old man pulled out a knife. When a taser was used to "subdue the suspect," he reportedly charged at cops with the knife. He was eventually shot dead by police.
All four cops who were involved have been put on a routine administrative leave.
So, as we chalk up another officer-involved shooting in the area, state records currently show Dallas is the only major city in Texas with a decline in "arrest-related deaths" this year, according to a Dallas Morning News article.
Which means a lot considering the sniper ambush that killed five cops back in July.
Here's hoping those numbers stay low.
