Love hurts, but love on TV hurts about 10 times more. Some of our favorite TV couples went into the summer hiatus happy, but most went into it with broken hearts and unsure futures.
To help you prepare for the upcoming fall premier season, Zap2it has pulled together some of your favorite ‘ships and where they left off when the season ended. Be sure to check if your OTP is living the high life, or in serious need of a DTR before their new season picks up.
For those who’ve been out of the game a while, DTR = Define the relationship.
Japril – ‘Grey’s Anatomy’
Even though they have a beautiful new baby girl, Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Sarah Drew) didn’t quite kiss and make up in last season’s Grey’s Anatomy finale. We’re definitely labeling this one “it’s complicated.”
Rumbelle – ‘Once Upon a Time’
Belle (Emilie de Ravin) is pregnant, under a sleeping curse and trapped in Pandora’s Box, while Rumple (Robert Carlyle) tries endlessly to mend their broken relationship. If anyone needs to DTR, it’s these two.
Steroline – ‘The Vampire Diaries’
After breaking up for the three-year time jump, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice King) are officially back together as of the end of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7, and they’ll be starting off Season 8 with some “hot and steamy” scenes, according to Wesley.
Olicity – ‘Arrow’
Their catastrophic breakup in Season 4 of “Arrow” has left this couple in no-man’s land. Going from engaged back to teammates has been a rough journey, but we’re not ruling out hope for Olicity yet.
FitzSimmons – ‘Agents of SHIELD’
These BFFs-turned-lovers spent years dancing around their feelings before getting together in Season 3 of “Agents of Shield.” They’ll officially be together in Season 4, exploring how to navigate their new relationship in the workplace.
Coliver – ‘How to Get Away with Murder’
While they might seem happy on the outside, Connor (Jack Falahee) still doesn’t know that Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) turned down a Stanford acceptance for him, so we expect that happiness to last all of about 10 minutes in “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 4.
Richonne – ‘The Walking Dead’
These two zombie-slayers might have finally done the deed and gotten their act together, but when the “The Walking Dead” picks back up for Season 7, one of them might be dead thanks to Negan. At least they had a little bit of time together?
Stydia – ‘Teen Wolf’
Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) and Lydia (Holland Roden) are still just good friends as of the Season 5 finale, but we’ve got a feeling that’s about to change as “Teen Wolf” enters its sixth and final season.
WestAllen – ‘The Flash’
Iris (Candice Patton) and Barry (Grant Gustin) finally decided to DTR and admitted their feelings for one another, but now that Barry has gone back in time and erased that moment forever, WestAllen is right back where they started. *sigh*
Mazikeen & Amenadiel – ‘Lucifer’
We’ll be kind and officially call these two “on a break.” After a betrayal, a blowout and an evil mom on the loose, Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) and Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) pretty much called it quits. We’ll see how long that lasts.
Olivia & Ed – ‘Law & Order: SVU’
We were more surprised than anyone to see Olivia (Mariska Hargitay) start up a relationship with Tucker (Robert John Burke), but that relationship may be headed for the rocks now that Tucker has decided to leave IAB behind.
