DALLAS -- Hey y'all, I just got back from a camping trip, and wanted to share some of my chef-y camping hacks with you!
The first is grilling on the campfire. Whether you caught your own trout like we did, or brought fish or chicken from home. all it takes is some aluminum foil, some fresh lemons, salt, and olive oil, and you can use that campfire as a grill.
Heck, it doesn't even have to be meat! Throw some corn and asparagus in that foil instead, or tomatoes, onions, whatever you want! The only rule is this: be sure to season it! Nobody wants that charred flavor without some salt to set it off.
I also highly recommend a coffee pot that works on a campfire too. When my mom heard I was going camping, she bought me one that makes cappuccinos and lattes! You know, for the rugged camper that I am.
Last but not least, the s'more of course! But not just any s'more - how about a Twinkie s'more! Just put that chocolate bar between your two twinkies, toast the whole thing over the fire, and enjoy!
The Spice of Blythe is: Glam up that camping trip! No reason to camp like your grandparents did. Do it with some style, some comforts from home, and truly enjoy your time out in the wilderness, Blythe Beck style.
