NEW YORK --  Everyone has been in on the craze of playing Pokémon Go!

That is, until now. If you're a sex offender in New York City Pokémon Go, is a no-go for you.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo laid down the law, releasing the following statement:

"As technology evolves, we must ensure these advances don't become new avenues for dangerous predators to prey on new victims."

The new regulation makes it a violation of parole if any of the estimated 3,000 sex offenders in the Big Apple download, access, or play the game.

The new ruling essentially bans the predators from roaming the streets, parks or landmarks and from being in the same proximity as their prey.

You see, the danger is in the feature that lets you buy a lure. A lure can be used to increase traffic at a certain location, like their homes, making the hunt pretty simple.

Looks like sex offenders won't be Pokémon Go -ing anywhere but court!
