Worker Dies After Falling Down Seattle Elevator Shaft

SEATTLE — A Washington man fell at least 30 feet down an elevator shaft to his death Sunday in Seattle.

Firefighters responded to a rescue call just after 7:30 a.m Sunday morning, finding the man at the bottom of an elevator shaft in the Avis building in Seattle, according to KCPQ.

Medics rushed the man to Harborview Medical Center where he later died.

Officers told KCPQ the victim was an employee at the car rental business.

Homicide detectives are working alongside the Department of Labor and Industries and OSHA to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s fall.
