GRAPEVINE--With police under fire lately, Grapevine is showing some love. Local businesses spread the word that they were packing cookies for police and tagging blue ribbons around Main street to show support for the good guys.

Only problem is, neighbors in Grapevine kind of overdid themselves as donations of cookies poured in.

“We’ve had such an outpouring of cookies and everything. We have way more than what we need," said Debi Meek.

The group says firefighters will get some overflow cookies while Grapevine cops will gladly take the feel good cookie bundles.

“This community has always had our back and we’ve always been appreciative of it," Grapevine Police chief Eddie Salame said. "The last two weeks have been overwhelming and it just fills your heart with joy just to feel all the love coming from everybody in this city."
