DALLAS -- I am so excited!  This week, I had the honor of visiting the Dallas Zoo to talk animals and food with their guests and staff!

They set me up at the state-of-the-art, award-winning Giants of the Savannah exhibit, where I got to visit with some of the kiddos who were touring the zoo and ask them about themselves and the wildest foods they've ever eaten.

Then, the Zoo's animal handlers brought out MJ the anteater!

He's actually a tamandua, or "lesser anteater," but that just means he's smaller than his anteating cousins.  I learned that wild tamanduas DO eat ants, and just about any other kind of bug, but at the zoo they feed him a healthy substitute instead.  MJ also loves honey and avocado!

I got to meet Lola next.

Lola's a sloth!  She likes fruits and vegetables mostly, but her favorite is grapes!  (We have a lot in common... I just like mine in pressed form.)

It's a good thing Lola likes healthy food, since she doesn't get much exercise.  Eating and hanging out is just about all she does!

Feeding Lola and MJ was one of the greatest days of my life!

The Spice of Blythe is, get out there and go places!  Meet the people and animals living around you, learn as much as you can, and don't forget to feed your wild side.

Very special thanks to the Dallas Zoo for having me out, and to the animal handlers who introduced me to my new BFFs!
