GALLUP, NM — Getting an invite from R. Kelly is one way to get into a hotel room, but what if someone walks into your room uninvited?

Sounds crazy, right? Well, that’s exactly what happened at the Rodeway Inn in Gallup, New Mexico.

Two guests were woken up by a stranger walking into their room — using a hotel key card!

According to the front desk, they had given a master key to the dude on accident.  It did sound pretty legitimate until the two guests that had their hotel room broken into, did a little experiment and decided to check out if they too had received a master key on accident. To make their little project even better, they filmed it:

Makes you want to always bolt your door, doesn’t it?

Needless to say, the video caused quite a ruckus with a little more than a million views, one viewer being the owner of the hotel, Choice Hotels, who responded to the video with a comment:

“Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have contacted the hotel and determined that there was a malfunction in their key system. They have taken immediate action to address this.”

We certainly hope so.
