DALLAS -- Eight veterans remains were interred at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery Thursday. What makes these veterans different is the fact that their remains have gone unclaimed.

Rick Crabb of the Patriot Guard Riders says the seven veteran men and one veteran woman aren't indigent and most likely out lived their family members.

About 50 people showed up to pay their respects to the veterans that served in the U.S. Army and Navy.  Eight members of the Patriot Guard Riders stood in as family members during the ceremony to accept an American flag.

"We cannot find their family, we become their family. Receiving that flag -- it's symbolic as the family would receive the flag," said Sylvia Miller.

The group says they will actively look for any family member related to the veterans laid to rest.
