FORT WORTH -- As students in Fort Worth ISD start looking forward to summer break, it doesn't appear there will be any break from talking about the transgender among them.

The school district’s new policy lets students use restrooms that correspond to their gender identity, and it tells school employees not to share information about a student's gender identity, even to parents, without that student's permission.

The provision means that parents could be kept completely in the dark about their child's decision.

Parents for and against the policy once again made their feelings known with a heated back and forth at Tuesday night’s board meeting.

This transgender debate is sure to get more heated over the summer.
