FORT WORTH -- What can you do with 100 pounds of dynamite, 300 pounds of chargers and 30 seconds? Take down 330, 000 square feet of pure concrete.

That's right, if you felt a little rumble in the Fort Worth area Friday, it was a planned implosion.

A total of six buildings were blown away by Dallas Demolition to make way for a new 97-acre corporate campus.

One of the buildings being blown to smithereens happens to be the American Airlines building, which has been around since 1990.

But now, it's gone, reduced to a pile of dust and rubble, making room for the new kids on the block. Plans to break ground on their new headquarters will begin this summer, with completion scheduled in 2018.

Right now, steel grinders and concrete slabs set the scene. But in no time, there will be an explosive grand opening on Amon Carter Blvd.
