LISBON, PORTUGAL — Talk about a royal mess. A guy trying to take a selfie with a historic statue in Portugal shattered the darn thing to pieces!

Human: 1  — Statue: 0

The 24-year-old climbed up the 126-year-old statue of King D. Sebastiao in downtown Lisbon, hoping to get the perfect shot. And you guessed it, Sebastiao came tumbling down like Humpty Dumpty.

After Sebastiao’s great big fall, the guy took off running!

While all the King’s horses and all the King’s men (aka the cops) couldn’t put Sebastiao back together again… they were able to catch the stupid selfie snapper.

Now, he’s expected to face criminal charges.

Poor King Sebastiao is broken up over the whole thing. Sorry, couldn’t help ourselves. No word on when or if he’ll be restored to his former glory.
