From Jon Snow to Glenn Rhee — Fake TV Deaths Are Making Us Mad!

It’s not a new trick for our favorite TV shows to tragically kill someone off, only to come back later and say, “Gotcha!”

Unfortunately, the past year of television has pulled that trick one too many times.

Zap2it has pulled together some of the biggest fake deaths TV tried to fool us with this past year, and some that might actually turn out to be true.

Jon Snow — ‘Game of Thrones’

The latest and greatest of these death fake outs has, of course, been that of Jon Snow (Kit Harington). HBO and the rest of the cast committed to the propaganda pretty hard when asked if Jon was really dead, but ultimately, fans knew he’d be fine.

Glenn Rhee — ‘The Walking Dead’

Most fans felt a little duped after it was revealed that Glenn’s (Steven Yeun) apparent gruesome death was a con. His dumpster dive may have saved him temporarily, but if “The Walking Dead’s” Season 7 premiere turns out to follow the comic books, it might have only been a temporary reprieve.

Felicity Smoak — ‘Arrow’

This is another death people didn’t really believe could be true, but it certainly left fans anxious over the holidays. Leaving Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) in a pool of her own blood, when we knew someone big was ending up in a grave this year was not exactly reassuring.

Killian Jones — ‘Once Upon a Time’

After Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) sacrificed himself to save Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and the rest of Storybrooke, it seemed for a minute there like “Once Upon a Time” had just killed off its male lead. Lucky for us, we didn’t have to wait a Jon Snow length of time to figure out that Emma and the crew would set out to save him and bring him back to life.

Cami O’Connell — ‘The Originals’

Another holiday ended in tragedy, when Cami (Leah Pipes) ended up with a slit throat immediately after sharing her first kiss with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) under the mistletoe. Her vampiric resurrection was sadly short-lived, since Cami died again for real later in the season.

Elizabeth Keen — ‘The Blacklist’

This one might be a little preemptive, but Elizabeth’s (Megan Boone) death just seems too far-fetched, even for the “The Blacklist,” to commit to. There are more than a few theories about how she could still be alive, and most fans believe Elizabeth will return once Boone’s maternity leave is finished.

Elena Gilbert — ‘The Vampire Diaries’

It’s bad enough that Elena (Nina Dobrev) has had to spend her screen time locked in a box this year, but then Damon (Ian Somerhalder) went and set her on fire. For a hot minute, everyone truly believed “The Vampire Diaries” had killed her off for good, before Enzo confessed she was alive (kind of) and well.

Delphine Cormier — ‘Orphan Black’

This is another death that we may be jumping the gun on, but Delphine (Evelyne Brochu) has got to be alive, right? After being shot in the Season 3 finale, we’re still not sure of Delphine’s fate. If Cosima (Tatiana Maslany) can get to the bottom of her disappearance, we’re willing to bet “Orphan Black” will pull a fast one and return Delphine to the land of the living.
