FORT WORTH - Help continues to pour in for wounded Fort Worth police officer Matt Pearce. He's still recovering after being shot 7 times in a shootout last month. As of now, his GoFundMe page has earned more than $85,000 in donations and one Dallas based restaurant is looking to add more to the plate.

On Wednesday, 17 DFW Dickey's locations hosted a fundraiser for Officer Pearce; 10% of all sales were donated to the recovering cop, but Dickey’s isn't the only business to offer the Pearce family a helping hand. Last month, 19 Chick-fil-A locations donated 20% of sales to the cause.

Sgt. Demetrick Pennie, President of the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation, says support from local businesses is important, “Right now, these are some difficult times for law enforcement and it's good to know we have the business community behind us.”

Wednesday night, the proceeds were presented to the Pearce family. Matt’s wife Laura was on-hand to receive the over $113,000 check, "Matt even said today, he firmly believes that it's the prayers of the people who have gotten him through this and I wholeheartedly agree. There's just no other explanation for his survival, so thank you."
