DALLAS -- The Big D got a little bigger Wednesday. NBA Hall of Famer, actor and businessman Shaquille O’neal did a little Q&A with business leaders on how they can take it to the next level.

After he inspired these folks, NewsFix down for an exclusive one-on-one.

“I try to give inspiring answers and try to tell a lot of stories that I think people can relate to and it was a great event," Shaq said.

“What’s so impressive about Shaq was that he was so humble," said Bob Funk, CEO & Chairman of the Board of Express Employment Professionals. "And he kept to his values he had as a young person.”

Shaq spoke to nearly 1500 folks at Verizon Wireless Theatre about his own business ventures. In fact, the big man was one of the original investors in Google, and is one of the owners of Five Guys burgers.

“You know, when it comes to business, 85 % of all athletes when they're done playing have nothing, and I didn’t want to be apart of that statistic," Shaq told NewsFix. "I met Magic Johnson a long time ago, and he said it's great to be famous but at some point you want to start owning businesses.”

So what does this King of the Court have to say about how to succeed at business?

“You have to help others," he said. "You have to learn from you mistakes and just have to have drive and never give up."
