DALLAS- If you're one of the millions tuning into FX's drama, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, you've probably spotted our very own Dale Godboldo.

The Hollywood actor was cast as Carl. E. Douglas, one of the defense attorneys on Simpson's 'Dream Team.'

"What I loved about the opportunity to play Carl was he was really the workhorse and the engine of the Dream Team," Godboldo explained. "He was basically Johnnie Cochran's right-hand man."

Godboldo says taking on the role was a rewarding experience, especially since Carl himself gave him the stamp of approval.

"Carl and I got to watch episode five together, which was bizarre and surreal," he told NewsFix. "It's a tremendous amount of pressure and it's a responsibility to play that person's viewpoint accurately and with integrity."

Godboldo is no stranger to the spotlight. His career started on the Mickey Mouse Club, where he performed on cable television alongside Justin Timberlake.

"When I was in 9th grade I got an audition for the all-new Mickey Mouse Club and that's when I got my SAG card, went out to Orlando, and was a Mouseketeer for four years," he added.

He's used that platform, along with connections in the biz, to start his philanthropic journey. Godboldo has successfully launched several mentor programs that help provide resources and guidance to at-risk youth.

"We launched our first initiative two years ago, called Project: Now, which is an education and arts program that the Clinton Global Initiative helped me launch, along with George W. Bush," he explained. "Right now, it's operating in eight cities around the country and we're looking at doing something here in Dallas."

The series finale of #AmericanCrimeStory airs this Tuesday and Godboldo is giving his Dallas family and friends an open invitation to watch it live with him at Club Azure. He'll host a Q & A session and share information on Project: Now.

"I love Dallas, coming back to Dallas and getting some of that home lovin'," Godboldo added.
