NORTH TEXAS -- Calling all Spring Breakers!

For many North Texas students, Spring Break 2016 starts this weekend. It's traditionally a time for fun in the sun; too bad mother nature didn’t get the memo.

Unfortunately, the forecast calls for wet and wild weather, and some potentially severe thunderstorms later in the week. But, no need to worry. Your friends at NewsFix got ya covered. Here are 5 cool spots to hit up indoors this Spring Break.

Numero Uno:  The DMA…that’s Dallas Museum of Art. General admission is free; plus the museum encourages creativity with its pop-up art spot. Who knows, your kid could be the a pint-size Picasso.

Two: You don’t have to be at the beach to catch a wave. Try the flowrider Aqua Shop indoor surfing at the Shops at Willow Bend in Plano. It’s totally gnarly, dude!

Three: If the sky is more your speed, then check out iFLY Dallas in Frisco. Here, you can suit up and take flight, all without ever jumping out of a plane. You’ll know what it feels like to fly like Superman, minus the cape and super powers.

Four: Speaking of taking flight – you can always sneak in a little history lesson at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum. It’s a cool collection of historically-significant vintage aircratfs.

Five: Why not mosey on over yonder down to Cowtown and take a gander at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. There are a lot of really cool hands-on exhibits for the kids.  It’s both fun and educational. Plus, you can catch a show at the planetarium.

Here’s hoping you’re break is a nice break from the monotony.
