“Are you surprised?”

That’s the question asked in a video released by the Tampa Police Department.  The department posted the video to Facebook, pointing out that body camera videos are not always tragic incidents and this glimpse is “kind of like riding shotgun” as it gives the community a look at what law enforcement officers go through every day.

It’s appropriately titled Police Body Cam Video They Aren’t Showing On the News.

To be clear, the video is a compilation of what officers’ body cameras caught throughout 2014; the short clips are not individual news stories, but rather a glimpse into what police experience on a regular basis — not just on days when police brutality is making headlines.

Addressing the question of whether or not viewers are surprised by what they see, the video simply answers, “Anyone who works in law enforcement isn’t.”
