GARLAND, TX -- What's Christmas without a few seasonal decorations? Especially the kind that sparkle and light up the neighborhood?
In the Springpark community of Garland, Elroy Evanczyk has been decking the halls for the past 34-years.
“We moved here in august of 1981, and back then, Springpark was high on decorating. So, that got us started putting out the lights,” Evanczyk told NewsFix.
Evanczyk proudly showed NewsFix his illuminated creation.
“There’s probably in the neighborhood of eight to 9,000 lights total. It takes me three weeks from the time I get started. The hardest thing is doing the spirals on the crepe myrtles up here.”
"When you see the lights, it gets you into the Christmas spirit, and makes you want to go out and do some shopping and enjoy the holidays.”
