VALLEY RANCH, TX — Every player that wears the blue star knows he has a microscope on him, and that goes double for Dez Bryant.
Yeah, #88 made all the headlines in the offseason when it came to his $70 million contract, but now Dez is ready to make headlines on the field.
“Just out there doing what I love to do — playing this game of football, going up catching it, high-fiving my teammates, just being out there balling again,” Dez said during Thursday’s practice.
Dez also grabbed a lot of attention with his revealing Rolling Stone article, and he explained his reasoning for why he opened up.
“I’m a real dude man and I’m gonna let that speak for itself,” said the star receiver. “I’m a human being and I just spoke real about my life.”
Yeah, there’s no doubt he’s a real dude, but he’s probably also the hardest working dude out at Valley Ranch, and his teammates and coaches know that his passion elevates this offense.
“Dez has worked extremely hard to get ready for this week and this Sunday and it’s great to have him back,” said offensive coordinator Scott Linehan.
“He’s a big part of what we are,” said veteran tight end Jason Witten. “He sets the tone in the way he practices the way he plays. I expect just another great season out of him.”
Yeah, and with 70 million reasons to prove he’s the best receiver in the game, 2015 just might be the season that 88 proves he’s worth every penny of his new contract.
Let’s just say, we wouldn’t want to be the Giants cornerbacks come Sunday night.
