CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA – One sheep, two sheep. Yeah, these woolly creatures do a lot for us. From helping us fall asleep, to providing sweaters to keep us warm.

But the roles were reversed when an Australian sheep shearer took on this woolly mammoth named Chris, whose coat was literally killing him.

Check it out! 18-inches of fleece, weighing in at 89 pounds. Wonder how many sweaters you can get out of that?!

And it was a record-shearing for Ian Elkins who got the call to help from Australia's Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Chris now looks better than ever. And more importantly, he's no longer an endangered species.

Guess it's safe to call this life-saving cut, shear genius!
