So taking selfies might be a little vain, but everyone does it from time to time and hey, they're fun.

Plus, if you’re in an industry where people see your face all the time, selfies can be kind of important.

So here are a few things you can do to improve your selfies.  Make sure to watch out for photo bombers in the background.  While having more people in the frame makes for a great group shot, you want to make sure you only get the people you want in your picture.

That said,  you may want to consider using the front camera on your phone.  The quality may be a little less than the back camera, but you can see everything in the frame.  And please make sure to use decent lighting.  You need to be well lit so everybody can see exactly what you want them to see.

Also, steer away from the duck face or other trends, because while being trendy can work, it's more important to communicate who you actually are in a selfie.
Another tip, take your time.  You might look a little ridiculous trying to get the perfect angle and snapping lots of pics, but when you get the shot you want, it’s worth it.

And speaking of ridiculous, using a selfie stick can can get you the best pics, but you might get some looks from people.  Lastly, make sure to play around with cropping and filters before you post.  Anything that can take your photo to the next level is definitely worth it.

Now get out there and start snapping!
