LEWISVILLE, TX - It doesn’t get much better than one stop shopping, and Sunday Royal Cuts Barber Shop gave away notebooks, pencils and of course free hair cuts. It is after all, back to school eve.

“When you feel a certain way about yourself and your image sometimes you excel a little bit more,” says shop owner Jay Sibley

The haircut may be a time honored tradition but plenty has changed over the years when it comes to ceremonious back to school practices.

“Now they have a lot of help with back to school supplies,” says Shareta Hurd.

“They want you to have specific brands, you can’t get the off-brand anymore,” says Brandon England

While the kids may be looking forward to all different things on the first day of school.

“I’m most excited about sports and getting my education,” says Kahrin England.

“Meeting my teachers!” says Aden Jackson

All the parents have one thing on their mind.

“Sleep man!,” says Brandon England. “I don’t have to babysit anymore.”

Lucky for them -- the first day of school is only a day away.
