SANTA CLARA, CA — The Cowboys take the field tonight against their old rival, the San Francisco 49ers, for pre-season game number two. For the Boys, it’s their first trip to the Niners new home: Levi’s Stadium.

But, they hope it’s not their last this season. San Fran is the host of this year’s Super Bowl, the 50th edition of America’s biggest game, and for the Cowboys, who were so close last year, it’s San Francisco or bust.

“Any coach or player or staff member in the National Football League, if you don’t have your goal of winning a Super Bowl, you’re really in the wrong profession.” said head coach Jason Garrett earlier this summer.

Hey, Dallas already has some great memories playing in the City By The Bay, like winning the NFC Championship Game in ’93.

So it would only be fitting to hoist trophy #6 in the Golden Gate City.

More importantly, this season also marks the 20th anniversary since the last time the Cowboys won a Super Bowl, and players like Tony Romo and Jason Witten aren’t getting any younger. This might be their last shot to claim the ultimate prize.

So no matter how much playing time the starters get tonight, maybe they should at least make some mental notes for a return trip in February.

And hey, if the team has as much fight this season as they had on the practice field against the Rams this week, they may just have what it takes to win it all!
