5-year-old Burleson Boy with Autism Dies After Found in Hot Car

BURLESON, TX — Burleson Police say a five-year-old boy has died after he was discovered inside a hot car.

Police were contacted by family members after the child, who has autism, was missing about 15 minutes.

Several people searched the boy’s home and swept the surrounding community. Police found the child in the backseat of a parked car located between the child’s home and a neighbor’s house.

Burleson PD says the boy was unconscious when firefighters performed CPR on him.

MedStar transported the child to Cook Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

BPD reports the temperature reached 100° at the time of the search.
