LOS GATOS, CA -- Netflix just made a blockbuster announcement that’s effective immediately. They're giving new parents up to a year of paid leave.

Wonder if employees at Netflix are starting to think this is a great time to start making a baby?

And this is an equal opportunity parent company. The new policy isn't just for new moms. Dads get paid to stay home too.

Netflix could start a trend with tech companies who already try to woo the most talented programmers the field has to offer with the most competitive packages they can.

One of Facebook's perks is free laundry and dry cleaning. Google gives its employees free food.

With their share price hitting a record high Tuesday, guess Netflix can afford to flex its perks muscles. And it doesn't look like the good times will stop rolling anytime soon since the company just announced it's expanding into Japan next month.

So, if you're thinking about bringing brand-new binge watchers into the world, you might want to shoot a resume over to Netflix.

Oh, and don't forget the “Do Not Disturb” sign.
