DALLAS — American Airlines is the latest to announce it will not transport big game trophies in light of the killing of Cecil the Lion from Zimbabwe.

American Airlines. issued this statement:

“Even though we do not serve the continent of Africa, we will no longer transport buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion or rhinoceros trophies.”

Other airlines banning the transport of trophies are South African Airways, British Airways, Emirates, Lufthansa and Delta Airlines.

Will this stop trophy hunting? Most likely not, but it does send a strong message.
