Update: An Uber spokesperson tells NewsFix the company is conducting an internal investigation, and issued the following statement: “We take these reports seriously and our thoughts are with the victim. The driver was immediately banned once we learned of the allegations and Uber’s safety team is working with the Dallas Police Department on their investigation.”

DALLAS, TX --Let’s face it, this isn’t the type of story you want to hear if you use Uber. Dallas PD says an Uber driver, 56-year-old Talal Chammout, was arrested and charged with sexual assault.

Cops say last Saturday, he picked up a woman in Oak Lawn, dropped her off at her home, followed her and forced his way inside her place.

Hey, Uber – we thought you carefully screened all your drivers. Our quick search found the guy has a history with the law.

NewsFix reached out to Uber for comment, but so far, all we were told was that they're "looking into it."

Moral of this story: you might want to be uber careful the next time you hop a ride with Uber.
