WAXAHACHIE -- Kevin Coffey woke up in a whole new world Thursday morning. Just 24 hours earlier, he was the police chief in the small town of Maypearl. That all changed when he turned himself in to face charges of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

Coffey spent the night in jail. His job gone. With four charges against him, Coffey's bond totaled $350,000.

It's all because of allegations he had a two-year relationship with a girl that started when she was just 14.

According to warrants, it started with video chats where Coffey told the girl she "had a beautiful body." She got naked for him and eventually, he exposed himself.

The warrants also say he met up with the girl at the police station, kissed her, put his hands in her pants and molested her. They say he warned the girl to be careful about any text messages she sent him because he could "get in trouble."

So, what's next for Maypearl? The city council has a meeting set for Saturday afternoon to figure that out.
