Hey, unless you want to shatter your fancy smartphone's screen, you probably have a case on it, right? Well, not all cases are created equal. One has cops from all over warning folks not to buy it.
Yeah, we're talking about the gun case. When you pull out your cell phone, it looks like a handgun.
Law enforcement across the country have posted on social media about this thing. One New Jersey prosecutor's office perhaps said it best in a Facebook post: "A police officer's job is hard enough without having to make a split second decision in the dark of night when someone decides without thinking to pull this out."
Hey, those split-second decisions can be deadly. Remember Tamir Rice, the 12-year-old boy who was shot dead by Cleveland cops back in November? Turns out he had a toy gun.
Well, maybe all this bad press is why the product is no longer available at Japan Trend Shop, where it was first spotted online. But it is still on Amazon. The reviews section there sounds a lot like the comments from cops all over the country.
One of them calls the gun case "the 2015 definition of stupid." And it's hard to argue with that.
