DENTON - Seems like it's one extreme or the other when it comes to water in North Texas. Lakes Lewisville and Ray Roberts, which have been dealing with the drought for years, are now both FULL.
Well, be careful what you wish for. The floodgates at Ray Roberts Dam have been partially open since the storm hit, to keep the lake from overflowing.
With more storms on the way, the Army Corps of Engineers is now preparing to open those gates all the way. Once they do, the surrounding area could experience serious flooding. Roads will be underwater and have to be closed.
Close to 200 residents have been warned to be ready to evacuate.
Here's hoping all the preparations are enough to keep folks from being swept away!
