DALLAS, TX — Get hyped up, Mavs fans; it’s playoff time! And this year, you couldn’t ask for much more in round one with the boys in blue going up against the team down interstate-45.

So, here’s what you need to know to get prepped for Mavs-Rockets, game one.

Houston took the season series from Dallas 3 to 1, but that doesn’t mean it was easy. The largest margin of victory was just 11-points when the Mavs won 111 to 100 back in February.

These teams have more in common than just sharing the same state. Jason Terry, the Jet, helped Dallas bring home a championship in 2011, but now he’s Rocking a Rockets jersey.

On the flip side, Chandler Parson jumped from H-Town to Big D last summer.

This just the third time the Lone Star rivals have met in the post-season. Dallas won both of the previous series, back in ’88 and ’05.

Head coach Rick Carlisle made it clear, he’s not getting caught up in the rivarly hype.

"We’re getting ready to play an NBA playoff series. We’re not looking at this like some big emotional clash," Carlisle said.

“This is basketball, this is competing and that’s what we’re going to make it about.”

Well here’s hoping the Mavs keep it competitive, and maybe we can keep riding the basketball party bus into the next round.
